CrossBorder Award: 5 contenders

The CrossBorder Award rewards the Dutch e-commerce company with the best international marketing case. Today the five nominees were announced.

The CrossBorder Award was presented for the first time last year at the CrossBorder Event, which Dexport organizes annually together with Twinkle. Fatboy walked away with the prize then. The beanbag seller from Den Bosch won the prize with its international campaign The world's laziest job'.to draw attention to Lamzac via user generated video content. In doing so, the company stayed ahead of the other nominees Amsterdenim, Body & Fit, Eurail and North Sails.

CrossBorder Award 2019

Amsterdenim is nominated again this year (participating with another international campaign). All five nominees for the 2019 CrossBorder Award are listed alphabetically below, with a reference to their campaign:

The aforementioned companies will present their case this summer to a five-member expert jury consisting of Guido Smit (ABN Amro), Simone Hein (Philips), Andreas Giese (Dexport) and Tom de Vos (Fatboy, winner of the first CrossBorder Award). On Thursday, October 3, the winner will take the stage.

CrossBorder Top 30

During the Crossborder Event, it will also be revealed which Dutch online sellers are working hardest across borders; in the CrossBorder Top 30, they are ranked by international revenue growth. Registration is open for another week (until July 23). The thirty names on the list will be announced in early August; the exact ranking will follow at the event. Who will succeed DisQounts International?

CrossBorder Event

The seventh CrossBorder Event will take place on Thursday, October 3, at Mereveld, a former farm near Utrecht. Theme: Your next move. In addition to the plenary program with keynote speakers, there will be specific attention to e-commerce, brands and marketplaces in three different tracks. Ben van der Burg is chairman of the day. Confirmed speakers include Jacco Oosterhof (e-Lusious/Koffievoordeel), Wouter de Vries (YourSurprise), Tom Pragt(bakker.com) and Wouter Smeets (Daelmans Stroopwafels). Also speaking are Ewout Key Rameijer of serial nominee Amsterdenim, Bas Urlings of growth champion DisQounts International and Tom de Vos of Fatboy.
